Ijen Crater & Baluran National Park Trekking

Ijen volcano contains the world's largest acidic volcanic crater lake, famous for its turquoise color and the natural phenomenon blue flame, formed by the heat and sulfuric gas from the crater. Baluran National Park, branded as Africa Van Java by the Dutch Colony, lives up to its nickname consisting predominantly of open savannahs, where it harbours a wide range of free-roaming wildlife in an extensive diverse range of 250sqkms ecosystems.

This part of East Java will dazzle your precious journey with breathtaking views that cannot be found elsewhere on the island of Java.

Day 1: Surabaya arrival
Arrival at Djuanda International airport Surabaya, you will be met by our guide and transfer to hotel. Dinner at local restaurant.

Day 2: Surabaya - Banyuwangi
After breakfast, you will travel to the east to Banyuwangi, through the northern coast of East Java. You will have a lunch and short boat trip in Pasir Putih Beach. Dinner and stay at Mahkota Plengkung hotel or similar.

Day 3: Ijen Crater - Banyuwangi
Wake up at 00.00 to be able to see the infamous blue flame of Ijen Crater. You will ride on a 4WD and a short trek to get to the crater. Breakfast box will be provided so you can have picnic style breakfast near the crater. After the breakfast you will go back to hotel to clean up and having lunch afterwards. In the afternoon, you will be taken for a city tour around Banyuwangi. Dinner and stay in hotel Ketapang Indah or Mahkota Plengkung

Day 4: Banyuwangi - Baluran – Surabaya
Leave hotel at 03.00 am to be able to see the animals lurking in their habitat in Baluran National Park. Breakfast box will be provided so you can have picnic style breakfast at Bekol Savannah. In the morning visit Bama beach, where you can snorkeling, or kayaking (depends on the tide). Lunch will be served around pantai Bentar, Probolinggo. Continue to Surabaya airport.


1.    Airport transfer to Banyuwangi by air conditioned car.
2.    English speaking guide and mountain guide.
3.    Accommodation as per above itinerary or similar.
4.    Meals: 3x breakfast, 3x lunch, 3x dinner
5.    Trekking permit.
6.    Entrance fee.
7.    Parking and toll highway fees.

Air ticket, airport tax, insurance, personal expenses and services not mentioned above.
